Grocery Store

Our Pay What You Can Grocery Store is located in the Junction neighbourhood in Toronto (at Dundas St. W and Keele). Our store is staffed completely by volunteers and we rely on your support to stay open. You are welcome to volunteer occasionally or on regular days/weeks.

A day in the life: Truck loads of donated food are delivered to the store daily. Most of the morning is spent unloading the deliveries, organizing and sorting the food, and putting it out for display on the shelves. Customers will come and go throughout the day, and volunteers are there to introduce them to the PWYC system, answer any questions, assist them in their shopping, and making conversation. Volunteers of all abilities are welcome.

Address: 2770 Dundas St West, Toronto ON, M6P 1Y3
Operating hours: 7 days a week, 11am - 6pm
Volunteer shifts: Morning (9:30 am to 1:30 pm) or Afternoon (1:00 pm to 6:00 pm)
Maximum volunteers: 3 per shift

Humber College Soupbar

Feed it Forward has partnered with Humber College to launch Soupbar, an on-campus pay-what-you-can soup bar. Soupbar offers healthy and delicious soups made from rescued food which otherwise would be sent to landfills. We serve 9,000 meals per semester. Our goal is to address the pressing issue of food insecurity faced by many college students each year. We are looking for volunteers to staff the Soupbar during operating hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please note: The Soupbar is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We will be open again in September 2020!

Location: Humber College North Campus, 205 Humber College Blvd., Etobicoke
Days: Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (seasonal from September to April)
Shift: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Drivers

Feed it Forward rescues and diverts over 12,000 lbs a day from local Toronto food retailers and manufacturers. We are eagerly seeking volunteers who have access to a car & have a valid driver's license who can pick up donations at various locations throughout the GTA (e.g.: (Aurora, Mississauga and Toronto area). We have scheduled pick ups daily and are open to occasional, regular, or as-needed volunteer drivers.
